SOME CAMP RENTALS STILL AVAILABLE FOR SUMMER 2026!

Beach, retreat, and camp rentals on Green Lake in Dedham, Maine

THE JENKINS BEACH MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION IS LIVE!

Our plan for a soft-launch reopen this summer was set back a bit when we received new guidance from our insurance provider about what we need to do (and how much more it is going to cost us) to open for day-use. But we are still committed to a limited opening this summer, and we are now accepting applications!

Please complete the (free!) membership form if you would like to be able to reserve beach time.

REMINDER: This first round of memberships is going to be very limited. Right now we are trying to get a small number of people access for us to test out the system. We will grant more memberships in future rounds over the next few weeks. We will announce recipients of the first round memberships by Friday at 6:00pm, and folks will receive an email with information about how and where to reserve beach time. We will also announce all future rounds here and on our Facebook page.

WE WILL KEEP ALL APPLICATIONS, SO THERE IS NO NEED TO REAPPLY FOR FUTURE ROUNDS.

Good luck… and may the odds be ever in your favor!

The past couple summers were rebuilding years for Jenkins Beach. We have worked on so many exciting improvements and renovations to the property. Our camps and cottages have now all been completely remodeled and renovated, and families who have enjoyed summers at the beach for generations have been able to continue to vacation at the beach. We have known since we bought the property that we eventually wanted to reopen for day use. We also knew that we did not want to return to the hectic days of old, where people were triple parked inside the gate and cars stretched a half mile up the road. We know some people loved the chaotic pace of a packed beach, but others did not. We wanted to find a way to strike a balance and make it so some visitors could swim and play beach volleyball and jump on the water trampolines, while others could enjoy a relaxing afternoon reading a book, sitting at the end of the dock with their feet in the water, or picnicking in the grass. We also needed to find a way that we could accommodate guests with our limited parking availability.

This August, we plan to try something new…

We are launching a new reservation-based system that will allow visitors to reserve spots on the beach. Anyone who wants to visit Jenkins Beach can complete a (free!) membership application. We are planning to trial the system with a small number of members to start, allowing us to determine the right balance of access and tranquility. Members will then be able to book time on the beach before they come, which will help visitors know ahead of time if space is available, an will allow us to regulate beach capacity and control the number of cars in the parking lot.

PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH US AS WE FIGURE THIS SYSTEM OUT! We are doing everything we can to re-open the beach to the community. We are excited about this new adventure, and we can’t wait to see you at the beach!

Jenkins Beach is a private recreational use lakefront property located on Green Lake in Dedham, Maine. The Jenkins family has owned the beach since 1940, and over the years thousands have visited to enjoy the pristine wonder of Green Lake. Three summers ago, Julie bought the business from her father and over the past two summers we have engaged in extensive renovations of the property.

In addition to completely revitalizing and modernizing the camps, we have also hired an environmental consultant to assist in our landscaping and cleanup plan that centers native flora, supports local fauna, and helps ensure the ecological health of the lake for the future.

The beach includes over 200’ of sandy lakefront access. We have 34 canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards and multiple docks for guests to use. We also contract with a local boat rental agency if guests wish to rent a pontoon boat for the day or week.

The entire property has high-speed WiFi coverage, the camps all have multiple SmartTVs, there is plenty of free parking, and we can accommodate EV charging as well.

The swimming at Jenkins Beach is unparalleled (where guests can enjoy our two water trampolines and docks), the deep waters of Green Lake offer some of the best fishing in New England, the beach is the perfect place to play and relax during sunny summer days, and the fall foliage in the area is absolutely spectacular. We are also located just 27 miles from the natural wonders of Acadia National Park.

Jenkins Beach is a business that strives and works to be a safe and accessible space for all. We believe in and support racial justice, gender equity, and LGBTQ+ rights. We welcome all those who respect others.

The boat launch is available by permission only, so if you have a place on the lake and would like to use the launch, please send us a message here or on Facebook messenger.
